Flatpak bundle

A single .flatpak file that installs into your user account. No administrator password, no changes to the system.

Install

Install Flatpak if your distribution does not have it yet.
Download the .flatpak file.
Install it, replacing the version with the file you downloaded:
```
flatpak install --user -y ./bookartisan-*.flatpak
```
Open Book Artisan from the application menu, or run:
```
flatpak run app.bookartisan.BookArtisan
```

The first install downloads the GNOME runtime the app uses, so it needs a connection once. After that the app itself works offline.

Windows

Installer

A 64-bit installer that brings everything the app needs, Python and Qt included. No separate runtime to install first.

Install

Download the installer and run it.
Windows asks for administrator permission: the app installs under Program Files. Approve the prompt to continue.
Open Book Artisan from the Start menu, or from the desktop shortcut if you asked for one.

Windows may warn you the first time. The installer is not code-signed yet, so SmartScreen shows a warning. To continue, choose More info and then Run anyway. If you would rather not, wait for the Microsoft Store listing: the Store-signed build does not warn.

These download links point at the releases page. It lists every version with its checksums, so you can verify a file before running it. Later on, this page will link the current version's file directly.

Updating

Neither download updates itself today: download the new version and install it over the old one. Your projects and settings are kept.

Linux

flatpak install --user -y ./bookartisan-*.flatpak

The new bundle replaces the installed version.

Windows

Run the new installer over the installed copy. Your projects and settings are not touched.

Before you install

Requirements

Linux: Any distribution with Flatpak. The bundle ships its own runtime dependency.
Windows: 64-bit.

Checksums

Each release publishes the SHA-256 of every file. Verify it before installing if you want to be sure the download arrived intact.
