Most of the answers are already inside the app: the user guide covers the workflow, the Markdown extensions, the settings and the themes, page by page.
The user guide, in the app
Open Help → User Guide. It is the same text for the whole application, with an index, search and a page per section — including the Markdown and regular-expression references.
Write to us
The address goes live together with the domain. Tell us what you were doing, what you expected and what happened — and, if a file is involved, its generated output.
Purchases and refunds
Licence purchases run through the store, which is the merchant of record and handles invoices, VAT and refunds. Its contact details will be on the checkout page.
Common questions
Is it really free?
Yes. Basic mode is free to use and complete for writing and for EPUB, with no time limit and no account. Pro is a one-off licence for the print and web outputs — see Pricing.
Does it need an Internet connection?
No. The app works offline: no sign-in, no telemetry, no online check to open it or to use a licence. A connection is needed once, if you install the Linux bundle, to fetch the runtime it depends on.
Why does Windows warn me about the installer?
The installer is not code-signed yet, so SmartScreen does not recognise it. Choose More info and then Run anyway, or install the Microsoft Store build when it is published, which does not warn.
Which PDF engine should I choose?
Start with WeasyPrint: it is built in and needs nothing installed. PrinceXML and Prince for Books give better typography and hyphenation, and the Books build adds publisher-grade pagination — install one separately and select it in the settings if you want that.
Can I use my own theme?
Yes. Themes are CSS: clone any of the fifteen, edit its stylesheets, or create one from blank. A single book can also override the theme's fonts, colours and sizes without changing the theme itself.
What happens to my files?
A project is an ordinary folder you choose, with your text as Markdown files and the project settings beside them. Nothing is uploaded anywhere, and the generated book is written where you ask for it.
