Terms of sale

These terms cover the purchase of a Book Artisan Pro licence. Everything in them applies from the moment the checkout opens.

1. What you buy

A Book Artisan Pro licence: a perpetual, non-transferable licence for one person to use Book Artisan in Pro mode, as described in the licence agreement. It does not expire and it does not renew.

It is a licence, not a purchase of the software itself. The software is downloaded separately and free of charge, and it is the same file for both editions.

Trying it costs nothing either: every installation begins a 15-day trial of Pro mode, and Basic mode remains free afterwards.

One licence covers one person, on the machines that person uses. If several people will use Pro mode, each needs a licence.

2. Who sells it

The checkout is operated by a store acting as merchant of record. The store is your counterparty for the transaction: it issues the invoice, collects the payment, handles the applicable taxes — VAT included — and processes any refund.

The store's own terms apply to the transaction alongside these. Where the two conflict about the transaction itself, the store's terms govern.

3. Price and taxes

The price is the one shown at checkout, in the currency the checkout states, with the taxes that apply to your country included where the checkout shows them as included. There is nothing else to pay: no subscription, no renewal and no per-book charge.

4. Payment

Payment is made to the store, by the methods it offers. We never receive or store your card or bank details.

5. Delivery

Your licence key is sent by e-mail to the address you give the store, once the payment is confirmed. Delivery is immediate.

If it has not arrived within a few hours, look in the spam folder and write to [email protected] with your order reference. We will re-send it; a purchase is never left without a key.

6. Right of withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have the right to withdraw from a distance purchase within 14 days, without giving a reason.

For digital content supplied immediately, that right is lost once the supply has begun with your prior express consent and your acknowledgement that you lose it. The checkout asks for that consent, and the key is sent at once: by completing the purchase you agree to receive the content immediately and you lose the right of withdrawal.

If the consent was not given, or the content was not supplied, tell us and the withdrawal is honoured.

Neither the withdrawal right nor this section affects your statutory rights if what you received is defective.

7. Refunds

Refunds are processed by the store, under the refund policy shown at checkout before you pay. Write to the store first, or to [email protected] and we will pass the request on.

A licence key is verified locally on your machine, and there is no online check to revoke it. A refund is therefore granted as a matter of policy rather than enforced by a technical measure, and a key that has been refunded must no longer be used.

8. Support and updates

Support is offered by e-mail, as available, to whoever holds a licence — bought or not. New versions are published from time to time and are free to use with the same key; nothing promises a particular version, a timetable, or that a version will run on a given machine for ever.

9. Complaints and disputes

Write to [email protected] and we will answer as quickly as we can. If you are a consumer and we cannot settle the matter, you may take it to the consumer protection authority of the country where you live, or to the courts that protect you as a consumer; nothing here takes that right away.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Spain. Where the consumer protection rules of the country where you live give you stronger rights, those apply to you.

11. Changes to these terms

These terms may change, and the date at the top changes with them. The terms that apply to a purchase are the ones published when you bought it.
